SPS 2010: Minimal Permissions?

Hi,

I have created a library with some folders with appropriate permissions (Own
custom permission levels).
But so the user can log on to the side, he also needs permissions to the
site.

What are the minimum permissions that a user needs to logon to the Website?
I would like to create own permission level and not use "Limited Access".
But it does not work if I copy the permissions of "Limited Access" (Login
Error).

What permission the user need?

The user will need "read" access to something in the site or the site
itself. If you give it to the site just make sure they have access to the
lists that are used on the home page. Other than that you can lock then out
of everything else.
